Enabling Short URL Trouble

Well, I just like having a cleaner URL for the download and delete links...but I guess I can keep them the way they are. They really aren't that long to begin with. Thank you, anyway, for you're help!

Okay after looking at your issue once again, even when I remove the main .htaccess file, your website somehow redirects to the DIR again no matter what. There is some server configuration file somewhere on your server that is redirecting ALL traffic and I am not sure what is it as of yet. Do you have access to apache or are you on a shared hosting account?

Problem solved! What I did was remove everything from my site and only keep the /download directory and it still didn't work. However, what I did notice is that when I clicked on the short URL after uploading a file, it gave me a 404 page not found saying it cant find /download/download.php which made me wonder. I have this script installed into a subdomain (download.technofrat.com), so what I did was login to DFH admin section and go to settings and I changed the script url from "http://download.technofrat.com/" to "http://www.technofrat.com/download/" and now it works! I guess you cannot put subdomains into the script url field, so please make note of this. Thank you!

Excellent! However, I believe you'll have to adjust the .htaccess file to adapt to a subdomain rather than a main domain. Will further investigate this when I have the time.

After playing around with the short URL function, I found out that when enabled, it provides me with a valid download link; however, when I then go to "Files" or "Top 10", and click on the link to the recently uploaded image/file, it will bring me to the 404 error page. Wonder if this has to do with editing my .htaccess file or something?

What is the link that it redirects you to that causes a 404 error page?

Nevermind, I fixed this as well too What is was doing was giving me the correct download link but when I clicked on the file in the "Top 10", it would redirect back to my subdomain, causing the 404. What I did was change the script URL in Settings from "http://technofrat.com/download/" to "http://www.technofrat.com/download/", including the WWW. Maybe you should make note in your script that the WWW is needed in the script url, that seemed to fix the problem for me. Thank you.
